Beyond the Backwoods Inc. is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization that provides outdoor experiences and education to underserved or inexperienced youth in Franklin Co. and adjacent counties of central Kentucky.

To serve the community’s youth by providing meaningful, experiential learning opportunities via outdoor adventures that enhance leadership, character, and potential while advocating the importance of wildlife conservation.

Our Goal
Our goal is to offer youth^ the opportunity to participate in a wide array of outdoor pursuits (e.g., backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, hunting, fishing) by providing the equipment, transportation, and guides free-of-charge*. Our organization has integrated community leaders and services that lead trips in effort to provide outdoor exposure, strengthen character and shape tomorrows leaders. Additionally, we provide survival training and small group instruction to supplement the experiential learning process.
